Community Input on Albion River Bridge Amenities

Share Your Input

The purpose of this survey is to gather community input on design measures for the Albion River Bridge Project to improve views, safety, public access, and passive recreation opportunities such as walking and sightseeing.

We encourage you to review the information below and, by June 30th, complete a short survey at the bottom of the page. Your feedback is critical in the decision-making process.

Please note: Final decisions regarding the placement and design of walkways, crosswalks, and safety features will be guided by established traffic and pedestrian safety standards and informed by community survey responses. Renderings are conceptual designs.

Project Overview

Caltrans is seeking community input on potential design features that increase opportunities for walking, sightseeing and access to the nearby beach, campground, and marina, and to promote safe crossings.

Pedestrian Walkways

The current project includes a six-foot-wide separated pedestrian walkway on the west side of the bridge.

Caltrans is evaluating the addition of a six-foot-wide separated pedestrian walkway on the east side of the bridge to provide enhanced river views and improve access to nearby amenities.

Pedestrian Crosswalks

To enhance pedestrian safety and access, Caltrans currently plans to install a crosswalk at the north end of the bridge, featuring a push-button-activated, flashing beacon system.

Caltrans is also considering a second crosswalk at the south end of the bridge to add additional safe crossing opportunities.

We want to hear from you!
